Gareth Baker Thomas

Music Composer for Film, TV & Media

About

I am a composer from South Wales, U.K., specialising in writing music for film, television, and media. I am a versatile composer and enjoy working across a variety of musical styles, with a particular passion for blending traditional instrumentation with contemporary electronic textures to create unique and evocative soundtracks.

In 2021, I was honoured to receive the ‘Best Soundtrack’ award at the Onyko Film Awards for my score for the short film ‘Through The Waves.’

A fun fact about my musical journey is that, as a teenager, I earned a Blue Peter badge for composing a song for the 2004 Tsunami Appeal, which raised significant money for charity.

My music is regularly featured on TV, film, radio, and advertising campaigns worldwide. Notable TV placements include The Apprentice (BBC1), Race Across The World (BBC1), Farmer Wants A Wife (FOX), Married At First Sight Australia/UK (E4), Antiques Roadshow (BBC1), and many more. You can find a full list of credits on my dedicated credits page.

I have had the privilege of working with esteemed production music publishers and I’ve collaborated on a wide variety of custom projects, ranging from intimate indie films to large-scale advertising campaigns. I particularly enjoy working closely with directors and creatives, taking time to understand their vision and translating it into music that enhances their storytelling.

Flexibility and collaboration are at the heart of my approach. Whether you have a clear idea of the sound you need or are looking for guidance, I am here to help bring your project to life. I’m also happy to adapt to a range of budgets and pride myself on delivering high-quality work regardless of scale.

Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me. If you’d like to discuss your project or hear more of my work, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
